Ernest Wayne Barber

Funeral for Ernest Wayne Barber, 60, of Athens was Wednesday, July 28, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Atchley and Tony Annerton officiating.
Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery in Falkville.
Mr. Barber died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born August 13, 1943, in Morgan County to Hubert Ernest Barber and Ruby Mae Murphy Barber. He was a pipe fitter for Union Local #669. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Barber and a sister, Brenda Holder.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Wilhite Barber of Athens; one son, Rusty Barber of Priceville; one daughter, Michele Willmon and husband Jeff of Scottsboro; four step sons, Tony Gandy and wife Vickie, Allen Gandy and wife Brenda, Steve Gandy and Mahlon Gandy, all of Athens; two step daughters, Debbie Haney and husband David and Shelia Langley and husband Loren, all of Athens; one brother, Joe Barber of Priceville; two sisters, Jane Atchley of Priceville and Sandra Garner of Decatur; five grandchildren, Nicholas Barber, Kyle Barber, Jaron Willmon, Jacob Willmon and Kaylon Willmon; 13 step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Steve Atchley, Tommy Holt, Larry Terry, Lee Posey, Donnie Barber and Keith Barber.
Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren.
