Time running out to go on summer vacation with kids

If you have school-age children and haven’t gone on vacation yet, time is running out. There is still time since school doesn’t start until Aug. 15. Also don’t forget the tax-free special the first weekend in August. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of the tax break.

A cheery hello goes out this week to our nursing home residents. If you would like to drop them a card, the addresses of our two local nursing homes are as follows: Falkville Nursing Home, P.O. Box 409, Falkville, AL 35622 and Summerford Nursing Home, 4087 Highway 31, SW, Falkville, AL 35622.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Reagan Lewis on July 28, Kari Begemann and Abbey Jenkins, both on August 1 and Charity Teague and Jacob Winton, both on August 2.

Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Corey and Charlotte Doshier on July 28, Mark and Dione Hatfield on July 30, Ray and Regina Long on July 30, and pastor Shane and Joe Lewis on Aug. 1.

Happy birthday wishes to Kaitlyn Smith who will celebrate her birthday on July 30. She is the daughter of Adam and Sara Maples Smith.

Happy birthday to Cindy P. Shaw on July 28 and Dot Ledlow on July 30.

Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to pastor Ben and Paula Bates of New Center Baptist Church. Their special day is July 31.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Earl Cook Jr. and Robert and Linda Speegle in the loss of Linda’s uncle, Wayne Henslee.
