Hartselle National wins two straight at sub-district

MONROVIA – The Hartselle National 9/10-year-old All-Stars won the first two games of the sub-district tournament. On Saturday they topped Decatur Central 13-3 in four innings, and then on Monday night they whipped Madison American 8-0.

Hartselle National scored four runs in the top of the first inning and added one in the second and three in the third to take an 8-0 lead. They wrapped up the win with five runs in the
fourth.
Kameron Wallace was the winning pitcher, throwing four innings of three-hit ball and striking out eight while not allowing a walk.
At the plate, Wallace had four RBIs and scored one run. John David Rittman, Dillon Campbell and Austin Jones added RBIs for Hartselle. Todd Gibson and Dalton Stisher scored two runs each while Garrett Fowler, Colby Nelson, Prestyn Wallace, Austin Jones, Allen Smithson, Blair Sittason, Levi Tapscott and Rittman scored one run each.

Hartselle's Colby Nelson fired a one-hitter to record the win. Nelson struck out six in six innings and walked none.
At the plate, Garrett Fowler had three hits and drove in one while scoring one run.
Kameron Wallace drove in two runs on one hit while John David Rittman had two hits and drove in one run.Prestyn Wallace had two hits and drove in one run while Colby Nelson had two doubles and scored twice. Allen Smithson had one hit and drove in one run. Zane Hamlett and Levi Tapscott scored one run each.
