Tawneys mark 50th anniversary
The Rev. and Mrs. Donald R. Tawney of Noblesville, Ind., formerly of Hartselle, will celebrate their 50th anniversary June 27, 3-6 p.m., at Park Place Church of God in Indiana.
Friends and relatives are invited. Cards may be mailed to 12323 Cyntheanne Road, Noblesville, Ind. 46060.
The Tawneys were married June 28, 1954 at First Church of God, East Prairie, Mo., by the late Rev. Hillery C. Rice.
Mrs. Tawney, the former Lenora Lewis, is a retired elementary school teacher, but is currently employed as a substitute teacher in the Hamilton Southeastern School System. She taught at Eva Elementary School and Crestline School during the time they resided in Hartselle.
Rev. Tawney served as pastor of the First Church of God in Hartselle from 1973-1977. He is currently serving as pastor of the First Church of God in Lawrenceville, Ill.
Both are graduates of Anderson University in Indiana.
The are the parents of Donna, Donald and Leigh Ann, each who graduated from Morgan County High School, and Brian, who graduated from Highland High School in Indiana.
Their children and their spouses will be the hosts of the anniversary celebration. They are Donna and Duane Hammel, Leigh Ann and Tod Utter, Donald Jr. and Cheryl Tawney, and Brian and Jackie Tawney. They Tawneys have 16 grandchildren.
