Hartselle advances to championship series

The Hartselle 7-8 American baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 8-7 over Enterprise Tuesday night and move into the championship series of Dixie Youth AA State Tournament at the Dixie Youth baseball fields in Sparkman Park.

Hartselle won the National Bracket while Taylorville American won the American Bracket. By virtue of winning each bracket, both teams will advance to the Dixie Youth AA Regional Tournament in Mulberry, Fla. The two teams will play a best-of-three series beginning tonight at 5 p.m. The second game is scheduled for 7 p.m. If a third game is necessary, it will be played Thursday at 11 a.m.

Enterprise and the Tigers played each other after Enterprise destroyed Dothan National Red 21-2 in the first game of the championship series.
