Shirley F. Lee

Funeral for Shirley F. Lee, 72, of Hartselle, was Tuesday, July 19, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Walter Blackmon and Robert Lee officiating.

Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born June 22, 1939, in Morgan County to Lewis Luther Walker and Viola Frances (Roberts) Walker. She worked at Hartselle Hospital and was assistant director of nursing at Summerford Nursing Home. She also worked for Dr. Earl Rogers and the late Dr. Harold Blanton. She retired from Saginaw as plant nurse. She was a member of East Highland Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James D. Lee; two daughters, Kathy L. Summerford and husband Eric of Hartselle and Rhonda K. Lee of Decatur; a brother, Robert L. Walker and wife Velia of San Diego, Calif., eight grandchildren, April Jones and husband Frank, Chris Deason and wife Jana, Robert Summerford and Phillip Summerford, all of Hartselle; James Barbre and wife Sarah of New Market; Jackie Cox of Decatur; Anna Summerford of Priceville; and Laura Chism and husband Zach of Tuscaloosa; five great-grandchildren, Trey Jones, Braxton Jones, Grayson Jones, Reese Jones and Phillip Deason, all of Hartselle.

Pallbearers were James Barbre, Chris Deason, Robert Summerford, Phillip Summerford, Trey Jones and Braxton Jones.

Honorary pallbearers were Grayson Jones and Dr. Hugh Nabors.
