Russell 'Rusty' Neal Terry

Funeral for Russell "Rusty" Neal Terry, 43, of Decatur was Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Thomas Salter officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Terry died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at his residence. He was born Oct. 5, 1960, in Lawrence County. He was the third of four children and the only of Sue Bates Terry and O'Neal Terry. Since his birth, he has been a lifelong resident of Decatur. A 1978 graduate of Austin High School, he received his degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He was also a master electrician, draftsman and certified locksmith. He designed electronic control panels and circuit boards for detention systems and most recently worked as an independent consultant across the United States and in Puerto Rico. Not only was he known for his intelligence and quick wit, he but also his generosity and compassion toward others. In his spare time, Rusty had a keen interest in astronomy and loved sailing.
He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Kathleen Terry, one son, Nicholas Russell Terry, both of Lafayette, Ga.; his parents, Sue B. Terry of Decatur and O'Neal Terry of Hillsboro; three sisters, Jan T. Hamilton and husband Mike of Trinity, Peggy T. Carden and husband Danny of Hartselle, and Lisa J. Terry of Decatur; two nieces and two nephews.
Pallbearers were Mark Hill and Jim Blankenship, both of Decatur, Joel Lay of Cullman, Mike Hamilton and Michael Hamilton Jr., both of Trinity and Danny Carden and Craig Carden, both of Hartselle.
