Christine McKay

A graveside service for Christine McKay, 89, of Hartselle will be Sunday, June 26, at 3 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery south of Danville with Bro. Dan Compton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McKay died Thursday, June 23, 2011. She was born June 1, 1922, and graduated from Danville High School where she was a member of FFA and FHA. She was a caregiver and joyfully took care of the sick, elderly and children all her life. She especially loved children and enjoyed playing cards. She was active at the Hartselle Senior Citizen Center for years where she was awarded Senior Citizen of the year. She was a Southern Baptist and was a child of God who walked in the spirit. She was a loving and faithful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James Samuel Crow and Dona Bell Miller Crow.

She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda McKay Bryant and husband James A. of New Caney, Texas; a granddaughter, Kale Miller Cameron and husband Darren of New Caney, Texas; a brother, Zemon Crow of Danville; and two sisters, Essie Holladay and Hazel  Holladay, both of Danville.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Christine by making a donation in her name to Friendship Cemetery Association, 1566 South Johnson Chapel Road, Danville, AL 35619.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Holladay, Kyle Holladay, Sammy Crow and Caleb Lewis.
