Be on the lookout for scams

Falkville news

Red flags to look for in scams:
Never pay for a prize if a person calls to inform you that you have won a prize and they ask for money. A person never has to pay in order to win a prize. Whenever someone calls and they state they are from a fire department or from law enforcement, hang up. These departments do not make such calls.
An extra red flag of a scam is whenever someone calls and states that they are calling from the bank to check on your credit card – you do not have a card. Banks do not ever make such calls. Hang up on them at once without saying a word.
