Funeral for Dan Murphy Harvey, Jr., 87, of Danville was Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack Bailey and Danny Compton officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Harvey, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born April 27, 1916, in Jefferson County to Rufus Dan Harvey and Lilly Mae Rickman Harvey. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served on many committees. He was retired from Wolverine Tube. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bobby James and a brother Raymond Harvey.
He is survived by his wife Edith Ollie Wilbanks Harvey of Danville; two daughters, Barbara Joyce Harvey James of Danville and Martha Kay Harvey Orr of Hartselle; his sister, Ruth Powers of Birmingham; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Holladay, Joel Holladay, Gregg Holladay, Joe Fitzgerald, Steve Tanner and Dan James.
