Students earn honors at UA
The University of Alabama recently announced that the following local students have been named to the dean's list for the 2003 spring term: Andrea Marie Holcomb and Candice A. Neal, both of Eva, John Wesley Hardin of Falkville, Richard Patric Clemons, Anna Katherine Corum, Alyson Elizabeth McFee, Eric Alexander Olive, all of Hartselle, Kristen Nicole Lewter of Lacey's Spring, and Joshua Andrew Holland and William Daniel McGee, both of Somerville.
The following were named to the president's list at UA: Derek H. Calvert, Jonathan D. Case, Jennifer Leigh Halbrooks, Margaret Mae Hendrix and Jonathan Curtis Stone, all of Hartselle.
Chittam attends language education seminar
Hartselle High School teacher Beth Chittam recently completed 54 hours of language immersion training at the Alabama Humanities Foundation Super Summer Institute.
"Grant Tour 2: Global Pathways of Language" was held at the University of Montevallo.
The educational event included nearly 60 Alabama teachers of French, Latin and Spanish, who spent the week speaking, studying, listening, chatting and sharing their language skills.
