20 under 40: Maggie McKelvey

Maggie McKelvey, 39

Owner and dentist, Hartselle Family Dentistry

Maggie McKelvey currently practices her profession at Hartselle Family Dentistry in her hometown of Hartselle.

Her journey began in 2002 when she graduated from Hartselle High School, paving the way for higher education at the University of Alabama. There, Maggie excelled academically, cheering for the Crimson Tide and graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry and Math. Eager to pursue her passion for dentistry, she continued her education at UAB Dental School.

In 2012, Maggie established The North Alabama Dental Assisting Program, contributing to the dental education landscape. The year 2016 marked a significant milestone as she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by opening her dental practice, Hartselle Family Dentistry.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Maggie finds joy in her farm life at The Tabernacle Farm. Married to Grant McKelvey, she shares her bustling household with three active boys spanning eighth, fifth and first grades.

In her downtime, she can be found cheering on her children at the ballfields, exploring new destinations with family and friends, tending to her garden or enjoying the freedom of horseback riding.
