Focusing on faith

By Todd Barrier

The Easter holiday is a great time to be a Christian. This past Sunday, people who don’t normally talk about or hear about Jesus wanted to or were open to hearing about Him. That’s a great thing. It’s also an opportune time for His children to refocus on Him so that when the opportunity to tell others about Him arises, we are ready. In Gal. 6:14 the Bible says, “But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

These words remind us of the cross and what happened there, this is what the world was focused on during the Easter holiday. We should be focused enough on the cross to tell others how unselfish Jesus was on the cross. How the cross showed us the reality of our sin. How Jesus defeated sin and death on the cross. How much God loves us because of what happened on the cross. If we focus on these things, we will be ready to live for Christ and tell others about how awesome He is any time of year. Are you focused on Him?
