Priceville clinches area title with win over West Morgan

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs clinched the regular season area title and will host their area tournament after defeating West Morgan 5-2. The win improves Priceville to 26-5. 

Priceville 5, West Morgan 2 

The Lady Bulldogs scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie and went on to defeat West Morgan 5-2. Bentley Black had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored, while Wrozlie Barnett had a hit and two runs scored. Katee King had a hit and two RBI. Elizabeth Murphy picked up the win after pitching two innings of relief, allowing one hit while striking out two. 

Kylei Russell and Lydia Hughes each had a hit and an RBI for West Morgan, while Karly Terry and Chasity Rikard each added two hits. Abby Lindsey took the loss after allowing five runs on four hits while striking out a season-high 18 in eight innings. 

Priceville 20, Falkville 3 

King had three hits, including a home run and two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored to lead Priceville to a 20-3 win over Falkville. Bentley Black added three hits, including a double, four RBI and three runs scored, while Barnett had four hits, three RBI and three runs scored. Madalynne Black picked up the win after pitching two hitless and scoreless innings. 

Brewer 9, Madison County 4 

Bronwyn Borden had three hits, including a double and an RBI at the plate, while pitching a complete game to earn the win in the circle. She struck out six while allowing four runs. Gracie Lawrence added two hits and an RBI, while Marlee Jones had two RBI. Abby Summerford had three hits, while Cheyenne Lucas, Ava Walls and Alisha Knighten each had a hit and an RBI. 

Brooks 8, Brewer 4 

Summerford had two hits, including a double, and two RBI in Brewer’s 8-4 loss to Brooks. Keylyn Stapler added two hits, while Borden, Walls and Knighten each had a hit. 

Danville 10, Falkville 0 

Hanah Tillman pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout while striking out 11 in Danville’s 10-0 win over Falkville. Kirstyn Robinson had a hit and three RBI, while McKinley McCaghren had two hits and an RBI. Tillman, Adily Alberti and Hallie Watson each had an RBI. 

Kaitlyn Carrington, Melody Sims and Emilee Pace each had a hit for Falkville. 

Madison Academy 9, Danville 3 

Aubrey Reed had two hits and two RBI in Danville’s 9-3 area loss to Madison Academy.  Robinson added a triple, while Isabella Guest had a double.
