Strong storms left an intermittent path of damage and debris from Danville through Hartselle to I-65 Friday night, according Mike Swafford with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Swafford said volunteer fire departments, Morgan deputies and officers from Hartselle and Priceville police departments have responded to blocked roads, as well as power lines and trees on homes.

One death is being reported in Morgan County as a result of the storm. A Hartselle who was trapped when his trailer on Vaughn Bridge Road near Vest Road was blown over into a tree was freed by responders but passed from his injuries at Decatur-Morgan Hospital, according to a family member.
