A favorite Christmas event of many Hartselle citizens is returning this year to E.A.R.T.H Park Dec. 3.

Christmas in the Park, which will bring approximately 30 beautifully decorated Christmas trees to the park, is free and open to the public and is a family-friendly event. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The event is organized by the Hartselle Beautification Association. Businesses and organizations sponsor and decorate the trees to compete for awards and bragging rights. The cost to sponsor a tree is $100. Trees this year will not be provided. Sponsors will need to supply a tree of their choosing – either live or artificial. Power, the post to secure the tree and the sponsorship signage for each tree will be provided. All trees must have lights and pre-lit trees will be permitted.

Executive Director Carolyn Wallace said profit made from the event will be used to make improvements in E.A.R.T.H Park.

Wallace and Mayor Randy Garrison will have opening comments to begin the event that will also feature concerts from elementary school students singing Christmas songs. 

Members of the Local Boy Scout Troop 92 are volunteering their time to put up the tree posts for the event. They will also decorate the bridge that leads into the park. Wallace said the trees will stay standing and decorated for the public to enjoy from Dec. 3-Jan. 2.
