Title: “If the Shoe Fits”
By: Julie Murphy

Cindy isn’t your average clothing designer. She’s specifically a shoe designer. Fresh out of design school and desperately needing a job, Cindy goes to work for her stepmother. Her stepmother is one of the producers for one of the most watched reality dating shows in the country. While working there, a contestant drops out and Cindy offers to take their place. A spot-on national television is just the celebrity attention her needs to launch her own fashion brand. Her plan for national attention works; however, not in the way she expected. People aren’t concerned about her fashion brand. They are only concerned about making her a body positivity spokesperson. Will people see her talent or only her appearance?

This new book by Julie Murphy is a romantic comedy with a happily ever after. This book highlights the body positivity movement and why the world should see people as more than just their physical appearance. As humans, we are multifaceted and complicated individuals.

By: Paul Tremblay

Art Barbara, a seventeen-year-old kid of the 80’s starts an extracurricular club for small funerals called The Pallbearers Club. They are volunteer pallbearers for those grieving at such a difficult time. Art’s new friend thinks this new club is cool. She decides to bring a long her polaroid and snap some pictures of the corpses. Yes, people think that’s weird. So is her insane knowledge of notorious New England folklore that happens to involve digging up graves. Scary, strange things tend to happen when Art’s friend is around. However, Art thinks nothing of it. It’s just how his friend is.

Years later, Art is writing a memoir of The Pallbearers Club. Just trying to make some sense out of his life and what happened all those years ago. When his old friend gets her hands on his manuscript, she takes issue with it. She starts making cuts, and Art is left blurring the lines of the supernatural and the mundane.
