Tigers in the news

Hartselle athletes have regularly been in the news this summer, highlighting their accomplishments this past year.

Hartselle baseball

The state champion Tigers recently finished the season ranked 11th in the nation by MaxPreps. Hartselle capped off their season with their ninth state championship under legendary coach William Booth.

Tigers outfielder Coleman Mizell was recently selected to attend the MLB Professional Development Pipeline event and Team USA tryout in Cary, NC. He was also chosen to play in the AHSAA North/South All-Star game in Montgomery.

Hartselle Golf

Hartselle golfers Tristin Wisener and Jinger Heath were recently named the Decatur Daily’s boy and girl’s area golfers of the year. Wisener finished his junior season with a 5th place finish in the State Championships, while Heath led her team to a second-place finish at the state championships.

Seniors Lauren Temples and Alyssa Berry were named to the girls’ all-area team.

The award was the third straight for Heath, having won the award in 2019, 2021 and 2022. Unfortunately, the 2020 award was not named due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She recently played in the High School Golf National Invitational at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. She finished tied for 24th in the event.
