Keep your disaster supply kit ready

By Martha Jackson

I would like to remind everyone this week to please remember to keep your disaster supply kit ready in your home.

Your supply kit should contain food, water, a battery-powered radio, flashlights and batteries and a cell phone with a spare battery pack or a portable charger/power bank.

Your supply kit should also contain a first aid kit, a pair of shoes and socks, a list of emergency contacts and a whistle to signal for help.

For more information please go to weather.gov/safety/thunderstorm.
