Bulldogs, Hawks, Blue Devils pick up wins

Priceville, Danville and Falkville each picked up wins this past week.

The 4A No. 6 Bulldogs picked up wins over West Point and Brewer, while 3A No. 5 Danville got wins over Addison, Tharptown and St. John Paul II. Falkville picked up an area win over Addison.

PRICEVILLE

Priceville 55, West Point 41

The Bulldogs outscored West Point in every quarter, including a 15-8 run in the final quarter, to take the 55-41 victory. Priceville led 27-21 at halftime.

Josh Greenhill led the Bulldogs with 16 points. Caleb Pedings and Elijah Hopkins each had seven points, while Cole Lindeman had six points and 10 rebounds.

Priceville 80, Brewer 47

Priceville scored a season-high 80 points to snag a 33-point victory over Brewer. The Bulldogs led 17-7 after one quarter and 39-22 at the break.

Sammy Holmes led three Bulldog players in double figures with 19 points. Hopkins scored 14 points and had five steals, while Chris Thomas added 10 points and seven rebounds.

For Brewer, Mac Shadden finished with 16 points, while Russell Mahan added 14.

Austin 82, Priceville 46

The Bulldogs were a last-minute addition to the lineup for the Pepsi Challenge at Austin High School. The Bulldogs replaced Decatur in the final game of the event against the Black Bears.

Austin led by six after the first quarter and 11 at halftime. They blew open the game with a 25-8 scoring edge in the third quarter.

Thomas was the only Bulldog in double digits with 17 points.

Tyrese Roach led four Black Bears in double digits with 17 points. Cam Collins had 12, while Eddie Mitchell and Jalen Orr each finished with 11.

DANVILLE

Danville 48, Addison 46

The Hawks came from 12 points down in the fourth quarter to grab a 48-46 win over Addison. The Hawks trailed 17-6 after the first quarter, 23-18 at halftime and 40-28 heading into the final quarter.

Carter Holladay led the Hawks with 18 points, while Witten Morgan added 16. Kohl Randolph had six points and seven rebounds.

Danville 45, Tharptown 36

Danville used a 15-4 scoring surge in the fourth quarter to get a 45-36 win over Tharptown. The Hawks trailed 32-30 heading into the final quarter.

Randolph scored a game-high 17 points to lead Danville Witten Morgan added 10 points, while JoJo Whisenant and Landon Freeman added seven points each.

Danville 49, St. John Paul II 47

Danville outscored St. John Paul II 8-6 in overtime to get a 49-47 win over the Falcons. The game was tied at 41-41 at the end of regulation.

Danville was led by Morgan, who scored 14 points. Randolph added 12, while Holladay had eight and Whisenant added seven.

FALKVILLE

Falkville 51, Addison 50

Falkville improved to 2-1 in area play with a 51-50 win over Addison. The Blue Devils led 25-22 at halftime.

Avery Miller finished with 17 points and five rebounds to lead Falkville. Camden Reid added nine points, while Dawson Norwood and Isaiah Warnick each had six.

Cold Springs 49, Falkville 37

Cold Springs broke open a three-point game at halftime by outscoring Falkville 24-15 in the second half.

Miller led Falkville with 14 points and six rebounds. Reid had eight, while Colton Hooper added six.
