Falkville softball loses head coach to Decatur

Falkville Lady Blue Devils’ softball will be under new leadership when the girls take the field next season. Head coach Meaghan Gray has left to take over the Decatur Red Raiders program.

Gray has been the softball and volleyball coach at Falkville since 2016. She compiled a 90-88 record leading the Lady Blue Devils. Her teams won 20 or more games three times and were 12-2 when the 2020 season ended because of COVID-19.

Falkville advanced to the regional tournament three times in the past four years.

Four players from this year’s team have signed college scholarships.

Gray is a 2010 graduate of Hartselle High School. She played four seasons for the Lady Tigers before playing two years at Northwest-Shoals and two years at Alabama A&M.
