Library Column
Hello again from the William Bradford Huie Library of Hartselle!
As I mentioned in my most recent column, we have rearranged our adult fiction and non-fiction collections. A quick shout out to Alex and Sarah for the amazing work they did on that project.
We have added almost 1,500 books to our library since Jan. 1. We are still taking requests and suggestions from patrons for books, series and authors. You can call or come by the library to make those recommendations.
If you want to find out whether our library has a specific book, audiobook or DVD, you are welcome to call us or check our Online Public Access Catalog, which can be found online at www.hartselle.org under Services A-Z > Library (William Bradford Huie Library).
If you want to be able to reserve items online, please ask us to sign you up for a username and password.
Library books are checked out for three weeks, and DVDs are checked out for one week. To obtain a library card, librarians must see something with your name and current address. If your driver’s license does not have your current address, we will accept insurance cards, rental agreements, utility bills and the like.
A library card provides you with access to our free e-book service; for more information, please stop by the library or give us a call at 256-773-9880.
We also have computers available for public use, and printouts or photocopies cost 15 cents per page.
We celebrated Women’s History Month this year by focusing on the wonderful ladies of Hartselle. Librarians Patricia Poe and Sarah Laughmiller suggested this program and have done an excellent job. Thank you, ladies.
We hope to see you soon at the William Bradford Huie Library of Hartselle!
