Fairview–The Grace Place to hold blood drive

The members of FairviewThe Grace Place will be holding a LifeSouth blood drive April 28 from 2:306 p.m. Please remember, the life you save could be your own or that of a loved one or friend. Your support would be greatly appreciated. 

The Phil Waldrep Women of Joy Conference will be attended by the Fairview women’s group April 2325 at Pigeon Forge, Tenn. The conference will be conducted by Debbie Waldrep. 

The members of FairviewThe Grace Place are looking for volunteers for the children’s ministry. They need people to sign up for the men’s softball team and parents to sign up for the children and youth camp. 

Brewer students win B.A.S.S. Nation high school tournament 

Congratulations go out this week to Fisher Anaya and Cody Brooks for their big win as champions of the Alabama B.A.S.S. Nation high school competition. They are both ninthgraders at Brewer High School. 

What a wonderful victory for Fisher and Cody, with their 20.91 sack at the competition.   

Brewer’s fishing team is really setting the bar high this year, with Fisher and Cody representing Brewer High School so well. CongratulationsFisher and Cody! 

Congratulations also to the Brewer High School Army ROTCPatriot Battalion, as once again they have qualified for the Army ROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl national championships, to be held this summer in Washington D.C.  

This is the third year in a row for the Patriot Battalion to qualify for the championships and the second in a row both leadership and academic teams qualified.  

More than 1,450 schools compete in the challenges, and few qualify both teams.  

Academic team captain is Faith Wilson, and the leadership team captain is Trevan Bailey.  

Good luck tthe Patriot Battalion!

Pam Holmes of Massey and Drew and Carson Owens and Meryl Juliette of Montgomery went to the beautiful Tulip Farm north of Huntsville March 28. 

Cedar Plains Christian Church of Massey had an Easter breakfast at 8 a.m., and their worship service at 9 a.m., conducted by pastor Clint Lee.  

Mitch Owens, Mitchell Bryant Owens and son Mitchell enjoyed an Alford Family Easter meal at Owen and Godseys at Old Houston near Addison.   

Len and Valerie Williamson’s Easter Sunday guests were Ed and Norma Jean Williamson and Hoyt Johnson, Andrew Williamson and Nicholas Williams. They enjoyed the celebration of Andrew’s birthday, as well, on Easter Sunday.
