Hartselle’s wrestlers pin top 10 finishes at state

Hartselle’s Lincoln Bryant and Ryan Garrison finished fourth and seventh in the AHSAA 5A/6A Wrestling State Championships this past weekend in Huntsville. 

Bryant, the defending state champion in the 120-pound weight class, opened the tournament with three victories before falling to Arab’s Jacob Holland in the semifinals. Bryant finished the season with a 31-5 record. 

Garrison opened up the tournament with two wins before falling in the quarterfinals. He won his seventh=place match with a 4-1 decision over Riley Dunn of Gardendale. Garrison finished the season with a 23-7 record. 

Hartselle finished 18th out of 58 teams with 65.5 points. Gardendale won the team championship with 189.5 points.
