Lady Tigers comeback from 21 points down to defeat Muscle Shoals 48-45

The 4th ranked Lady Tigers hosted the Muscle Shoals Lady Trojans Friday evening with a chance to finish the regular season undefeated in area play.

The Lady Trojans had revenge on their mind after Hartselle defeated them 63-47 in their previous matchup.

Muscle Shoals jumped out to a 17-1 first-quarter lead behind 11 points from UT Lady Vols signee Sara Puckett. They extended their lead to 22-1 early in the second quarter.

Hartselle started to heat up and outscored the Lady Trojans 10-2 to close out the first half and cut the Muscle Shoals lead to 24-11.

The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Trojans 23-10 in the third quarter behind 14 points from Samford commit Masyn Marchbanks and six from Hailey Holshouser. They entered the fourth quarter tied at 34-34.

Hartselle completed the comeback in the fourth quarter as they outscored Muscle Shoals 14-11 to get the win.

Marchbanks finished with 22 points to lead Hartselle (19-2, 6-0). Maggie McCleskey added ten points, while Holshouser had eight.

Puckett had a game-high 29 points to lead the Lady Trojans (11-7, 4-2).

The win gives the Lady Tigers a homecourt advantage through the area tournament. They will open by hosting Decatur, while Muscle Shoals will host Cullman.
