A shooting has left one man dead and another in the Morgan County Jail.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Jan. 22, a shooting call was made to Morgan County 911 from a residence in the 1200 block of Highway 55 E., between Falkville and Eva, according to the report.

Deputies and Investigators responded and secured the scene, where one deceased male was located and one male was detained.

The victim was later identified as Patrick Edward Burkhart, 58, of Falkville.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Richard Odell Clark, 42, of Falkville and charged him with murder.

Clark was booked into the Morgan County Jail with bond set at $100,000.
