Morgan County Farm-City names poster contest winners

Special thanks goes out this week to the Morgan County 4-Hers who participated in the Morgan County Farm-City poster contest. They had 131 participants this year!  

A special congratulations to the 4-Hers who were the winners in the contest. 

The 4-Hers who placed first through fifth, along with those receiving honorable mention, received ribbons and certificates. They are listed as follows.  

Those receiving awards in the fourth– through sixth-grade category are: 

—First place: McKinley Morris, fifthgrader at Hartselle Intermediate 

Second placeKayla Colburn, fourthgrader at Barkley Bridge Elementary 

Third place (tie)Edward Dcampo Moguel, sixthgrader at Danville Middle 

Third place (tie): Andy Bankester, fourthgrader at Burleson Elementary 

Fourth placeCamryn Hyde, fourthgrader at Burleson Elementary  

Fifth placeNora Braddock, fourthgrader at Burleson Elementary 

Honorable MentionCollins Belew, fourthgrader at Burleson Elementary, and Zakery Murphy, fifthgrader at Danville Middle 

Congratulations to all of the county winners. McKinley Morris will advance to state competition in the fourth– through sixthgrade category. Good luck McKinley.  

Falkville Fire And Rescue Activities  

The members of Falkville Fire and Rescue had a busy November with a total of 74 calls for service. They had 49 EMS callsseven fire calls, 16 motor vehicle callsone HAZMAT call and one other 

The community and the Town of Falkville are very grateful for the commitment of the Fire and Rescue volunteers, who responded to 100 percent of their calls. God bless each of you and Merry Christmas!  

Falkville High School Announcements  

Congratulations to the Falkville High School Spelling Bee winners, and a special thank you to Ms. Cristal Owens for coordinating it.  

The winners are announced as follows: first place Hannah Summerford, second place Taylor Smith, third place Lily Ballenger and fourth place tie Savannah Conriw and Melody Sims.  

Special congratulations to Falkville High School Coach Greg Tomlin for being the Alabama 2A Assistant Coach of the Year!
