Laceys Spring man dies in crash

A one-vehicle crash Nov. 25 has claimed the life of a Laceys Spring man.  

At 9:50 p.m. Nov. 25, Bartolo Diaz-Hidalgo, 26, was killed when the 2004 Jeep Cherokee he was operating ran off the roadway, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. 

According to ALEA, the vehicle was traveling Highway 231 when it overturned and hit a private gravel driveway near the 304 mile marker. Hidalgo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed has been determined to be a contributing factor to the wreck, according to the ALEA 

Nothing further is available as state troopers continue to investigate.
