Hartselle PD raises money during No Shave November

Officers at the Hartselle Police Department are putting down their razors for a good cause this month. During November, officers will not shave their facial hair and will compete in raising money for a Hartselle man fighting brain cancer.

Jim England is a special agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, assigned to the Huntsville Resident Office. He is also a former U.S. Marine and Morgan County sheriff’s deputy.

According to a post on the HPD Facebook page, England was diagnosed with brain cancer this summer.

Jim has undergone surgery relative to this diagnosis and has completed his first round of radiation and chemotherapy. (He) will begin his next rounds of treatment in the next few weeks. Jim and his family have made many sacrifices for our community, as well as our country, and now we have the opportunity to give back to them,” the post reads.

Donations to participating HPD officers can be dropped off at the police department during office hours or given directly to the sponsored officer.

All proceeds will go directly to the England family to help with expenses related to his treatment.
