Falkville gets fifth shutout of season in 38-0 win over Ider

The Falkville Blue Devils posted their fifth shutout of the season Friday night, a 38-0 region victory over the Ider Hornets (1-8, 0-5). 

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 24-0 lead at halftime behind two rushing touchdowns from Christian Angulo and a Mikell Philyaw touchdown reception. 

They extended the lead to 38-0 in the third quarter on two Jordan Greenfield rushing touchdowns. 

Angulo finished with 120 yards on seven carries, along with an interception. Greenfield had 122 yards on seven carries. 

Peyton Sallee was 11 for 17 with 83 yards passing and a touchdown. 

The win sets up a showdown at North Sand Mountain (7-1, 5-0) Friday night. It will be a battle of the top two scoring offenses and defenses in Class 2A, Region 7. 

The Blue Devils (8-0, 5-0) are averaging 43.8 points per game on offense while giving up 3.4 points. The Bison are averaging 35.1 while allowing 16 points per game.
