Hartselle picks up wins over Cullman and Sparkman

Hartselle hosted Sparkman and area opponent Cullman in volleyball action on Thursday night.

The Tigers opened play in an area contest against the Bearcats. Hartselle won the contest 25-10, 25-21, 25-20. The win moves the Tigers to 3-0 in area play.

To close out the evening, Hartselle defeated Sparkman 25-27, 5-18, 15-9. The victory was the third over 7A No. 5 Sparkman in the last two weeks.

Hartselle was led by Jessica Jarrett, who finished with 18 digs, 12 kills, and four blocks. Lillyanna Cartee had 17 kills, 17 digs, and three aces while Hailey Holshouser added 15 kills, 16 digs, and four aces. Grace Tapscott had 54 assists and eight digs. Jadyn Chesser added 13 kills and six digs.

Hartselle (28-8, 3-0) has won 14 straight matches since falling to Hazel Green in the finals of the Huntsville Ironman Tournament on September 5th.
