Business, patio homes to occupy rezoned lot
The Hartselle City Council approved the rezoning of a vacant portion of a property on Lane Road from R-1 to a mixture of R-5, which is patio home, and B-1, which is local shopping, at regular meeting May 26.
The change was made following a public hearing and received unanimous consent.
The B-1 portion of the rezoning will be consolidated with the vacant lot at the corner of Highway 31 and Lane Road for inclusion in the future Lifeworks Physical Therapy office project.
The R-5 portion is to be divided into two patio home lots.
The current comprehensive plan does not reflect this as a proposed change; however, there is existing B-1 zoning to the east and R-3 apartments across the street to the north. The Planning Commission recommended approval 6-0-1.
