House fire in Falkville claims three lives

A Falkville man and two children were killed in a house fire April 5, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.  

According to Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn, the victims were Quentin Heath Ryan, 44, and his two daughters, Chelsea Ryan, 7, and Kylee Ryan, 3Chunn said the bodies of the deceased were sent to forensics and are pending autopsy.  

Authorities closed a portion of Highway 55 from Nat Key Road to Wilhite Road early Sunday morning because of the blaze. Mike Swafford with the MCSO said an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.  

An outpouring of support and concern were shared on the MCSO Facebook post reporting the eventPeople who knew the victims have also shared memories of them on Ryan’s personal page.  

The home, which was a total loss, is located on Highway 55 across from JJ’s Grocery east of Falkville.
