AHSAA Announces Winter Reclassification

MONTGOMERY – The AHSAA has released the new areas for winter sports for the 2020-21 & 2021-22 seasons. Basketball and Bowling had changes made to areas and classifications. Indoor Track & Field and Wrestling did not experience any changes.

Basketball

Hartselle remains in 6A Area 14 with Cullman, Decatur, as well as newcomer Muscle Shoals.

Brewer moves to 5A Area 14, formerly Area 15, with Fairview and Guntersville.

Priceville remains in 4A Area 13 with St. John Paul II as well as newcomers Randolph School and Westminster Christian Academy.

Danville drops to 3A from 4A. They will compete in Area 15 with East Lawrence, Phil Campbell, and Vinemont.

Falkville moves from 1A to 2A. They will be in Area 13 with Addison, Cold Springs, and Winston County.

Bowling

The AHSAA will now have two classifications, 1A-5A & 6A-7A.

Hartselle will compete in 6A-7A Area 7 with Clay-Chalkville, Gadsden, Gardendale, Hewitt-Trussville, Huffman, Pinson Valley, and Southside-Gadsden.

Priceville will compete in 1A-5A Area 8 with East Limestone, Fairview, Lindsay Lane, Randolph, and St. Bernard.
