Hartselle volleyball advances to state tournament

Hartselle Lady Tigers volleyball has completed one of its goals coming into the season: to make it back to the state tournament in Birmingham.

The Lady Tigers accomplished the goal with their runner-up finish in the North Super Regional Saturday afternoon.

Although the No. 3 Lady Tigers were not happy with the outcome, a 3-0 loss to No. 2-ranked Hazel Green, there is more to come in their season.

Hartselle advanced to the North Regional finals with 3-0 victories over GW Carver – Birmingham and No. 5 Buckhorn plus a 3-1 victory over No. 10 Albertville.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Tigers won their area tournament with a 3-0 sweep of Cullman.

The Lady Tigers (67-10) now turn their focus to Birmingham and the 6A State Tournament. They will open play against No. 4 Chelsea Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the CrossPlex.
