Morgan Baptist Association celebrates 100th anniversary

The Morgan Baptist Association will celebrate its 100th anniversary Oct. 28 with a meeting at 4 p.m. 

The meeting will be held at the First Baptist Church in Hartselle. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Junior Hill, and dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Shady Grove Church to host blood drive

The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church will hold a blood drive Oct. 20 from 12:30-5 p.m. All support will be greatly appreciated. 

Fairview–The Grace Place Activities

The members of Fairview–The Grace Place Church will hold their Fall Festival Oct. 20 from 3-6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend this community event outdoors on the church property. There will be games, food and entertainment for all ages.

Arlene Nisly of the Massey community is recovering at home from knee replacement surgery and undergoing physical therapy. The Rev. Samuel Nisly, her husband and the pastor of Emmanuel Mennonite Church, and Wanita Nisly are her caregivers. 

The Rev. Wayne and Sharon Nisly’s preemie son is now 4 months old and gaining weight. He is still a patient at the Children’s Hospital. Please continue to be in prayer for the family and also for Grandmother Arlene Nisly.

Area county officials attend meeting

Six municipalities, mayor and town clerk and also the Morgan County Commission met for their monthly meeting Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. 

Falkville Mayor Ken Winkles and town clerk Dawn Estes hosted the event at the Falkville Town Hall. The municipalities take turns hosting the meeting.
