Hartselle wins Saks Invitational Tournament

The 6A No. 4 Lady Tigers volleyball team traveled to Anniston to participate in the Saks Invitational Tournament over Labor Day Weekend. The Lady Tigers went 6-0 and didn’t drop a set on their way to the tournament championship.

With the wins, the girls improved their season record to 14-3.

  • Match One: Hartselle defeated Ranburne 2-0 (25-5, 25-5).
  • Match Two: Hartselle defeated Coosa Christian 2-0 (25-13, 25-4).
  • Match Three: Hartselle defeated Woodland 2-0 (25-7, 25-8).
  • Match Four: Hartselle defeated Saks 2-0 (25-12, 25-5).
  • Match Five – Semifinals: Hartselle defeated 1A No. 3 Donoho 2-0 (25-7, 25-13).
  • Match Six – Championship: Hartselle defeated 1A No. 4 Spring Garden 2-0 (25-13, 25-16).

Stat leaders for Hartselle included Grace Leighton with 83 assists, 20 digs and 12 kills; Hailey Holshouser with 30 digs, 24 kills and 14 aces; Lillyanna Cartee with 39 kills, 18 digs and 10 aces; Jadyn Chesser with 11 kills and 10 digs; Alli Parker with 18 kills and seven blocks; Tori Hughes with 44 digs; and Breanna Alexander with 10 aces.
