John Harold Vest

Funeral for John Harold Vest, 68, of Hartselle was Friday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with the Revs. Debbie Wade and Thomas Elder officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Vest died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at his residence. He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Morgan County to Dean S. Vest and Gladys Smith Vest. He was a well known businessman and a member of the Vest Quartet. He was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by one grandson, John Wade, one brother, James "Red" Vest and one sister, Lola Pearl Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Celia P. Vest of Hartselle; two sons, John R. Vest and Tommy D. Vest, both of the Oak Ridge Community; one daughter, Deborah Vest Wade of Somerville; seven grandchildren, Chanda Morgan, Molly Vest, Tobi Vest, Ashley Vest, Will Wade, Wade Vest and Wesley Vest; two brothers, Norman Vest and Wayne Vest, both of Decatur; and one sister, Helen Picket of Huntsville.
Honorary pallbearers were the men of Kyle Kirby's Sunday School class.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Decatur District United Methodist Church Disabilities Ministries at 962 Black Road, Somerville, AL 35670.
