Rain, possible flooding expected through the next two days

According to the National Weather Service, Hartselle and southern parts of Morgan County are under a flash flood watch from 7 a.m. today to 7 p.m. tomorrow. Earlier this morning, Morgan County was placed under a flash flood warning until 10:15 a.m.

Chief Puckett also said that drivers needed to be extra cautious in the wet weather. “First of all, slow down. Anytime you are driving in the rain you also need to have a good distance between you and the car in front of you. Avoid water on the roadways, and especially running water,” Puckett said.

Puckett recommended avoiding driving in heavy rain situations if possible, but reiterated the importance of lower speed. “Slower speed is the best solution,” he said.
