Scholarships available
The Wallace State Alumni Association will award four $500 scholarships for fall semester 2003 to students who have demonstrated academic excellence, service to the community and to the college.
Scholarship applications will be accepted through June 10, 2003.
Applicants must have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours of coursework at Wallace State and have at least a 2.5 GPA. They must be full-time students at the time of application and maintain at least half-time status to retain the scholarship. A letter of recommendation from the student's academic or program advisor is also required.
Those interested in applying for the scholarship may obtain an application form from the Wallace State Alumni Association Office located on the 10th floor of the Bailey Center. Call 256-352-8163 or log on to www.wallacestate.edu for more information.
Scuba courses offered
Wallace State Community College will offer a Summer SCUBA course. Students will be eligible to receive college credit while receiving SCUBA certification. Participants do not have to be full-time Wallace students to enroll. Class will meet Thursday nights. Registration is Tuesday, May 27. The first class is Thursday, May 29.
