Tigers struggle to keep pace with Falcons

FLORENCE – It was a struggle on both ends of the floor Friday night in Florence as the Hartselle varsity boys team suffered a 78-36 setback to the Falcons.

The Hartselle boys huddle around head coach Faron Key in Friday night’s contest at Florence.

The home team raced out to an 18-4 lead after just one quarter and held a double-digit lead throughout the rest of the game. In the grand scheme of things this was a borderline exhibition, but in its last two regular season games, the Tigers struggled to find consistency.

No one reached double figures for Hartselle as Trace Hill put in a team-high nine points. They return to action 6 p.m., Wednesday in the first round of the Class 6A Area 15 Tournament at Austin.
