Danville girls steady shooting provides win on senior night

DANVILLE – Senior night is always a special game for high school athletes. The goal for every team is to send those seniors out in style. The Lady Hawks did just that with a 57-43 win over East Lawrence on Friday night.

Danville – the No. 6 team in Class 4A – jumped out to a 15-6 lead after one quarter and were able to stave off East Lawrence throughout the game. Senior forward Callie Ryan tallied 12 points in her final home game alongside fellow seniors Jordan Hinkle and Brianna Downs.

Kayla Compton led the Lady Hawks with 19 points and Jolee Cole scored 10 points in the victory. Danville as a team tossed in eight three pointers in the victory while limiting East Lawrence to just three baskets from long range.
