Local families enjoy trips, togetherness

By Jeanne Blackmon

The Anders hosted their annual Thanksgiving feast on Pinehurst Street in Hartselle Nov. 24 in honor of Kathleen Anders.

There was a lot of talking, laughing, games and eating – of course.

Ages of the guests ranged from 86 years to 2 months. The group included Mrs. E.L. Anders; the families of her children, Esmerlee Anders, J. Tamie Prater, Olivia Miller and Paula Kay Guthrie; her brother, Waymon Holladay; sister-in-law Fay Anders; friends of the Prater family, Jamie and her two children; Kristi Prater and her children, with Derek Batts, Trai Batts and Loren Aldridge; Drew Prater and his wife Cassidy and their son Cameron (19 months old); Olivia and Greg with their children; Spencer and his wife Kat, Titus, and Julie; Paula Kay and Roy with their family; Josh and Amanda with their sons William and Oliver; Jenny Guthrie and their daughter Remi, Victoria, River, and Anastasia; the Cottingham family, including Stephanie and her daughter Lexi; the McCullar family, Ava and her daughter Amanda Harris; the Holladay family, Waymon and his wife Shelby; and the Sheffield family, Leon and his son Jason.

Menu included chicken and dressing, smoked shoulder, baked ham, multiple casseroles and veggies, rolls, homemade pies and homemade cakes.

“We’re so thankful for this family. I pray that God will bless us with many more Thanksgivings like today.”

Dana Morris Schrimsher recently enjoyed a trip to the beach with her daughter, Julie Norris of Wetumpka, Jill Joiner of Pike Road and her sister Lila Morris Turner of Wetumpka. Afterward, she visited with Lila, her husband Larry Turner and her nephew Trevor Turner before returning home.

Max and Dana Schrimsher recently went to Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and had a delicious meal at Crockett’s Mill Restaurant in David Crockett State Park. They also enjoyed seeing the beautiful leaves during the trip.
