Funeral for Hilrey Nethery, 89, of Hartselle was Mon., June 26, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with Brother Steve McCurry and Brother Walter Blackman officiating with burial in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Nethery, who was born Feb. 12, 1928 to Emmett and Bertha Tankersley Nethery, died on Fri., June 23, 2017 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Hartselle, was retired from Hargett Plumbing Company and was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Nethery; a daughter, Patricia Nethery and a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gloria Nethery.

He is survived by a daughter, Sheila Blackwood (Gary); a sister, Margaret Higginbotham; three grandchildren, Ashley Littleton (Aaron), Patrick Blackwood and Amelia Nethery and 9 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.
