FALKVILLE U.M. CHURCH HOLDS THE BIBLE TRAIL VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

“The Bible Trail” was the theme for Falkville United Methodist Church’s Vacation Bible School. Brother John and Bess Rogers planned and directed the event on June 14 and 15 at 6 p.m. each night. “Take a Hike, kids of all ages on an adventure to Bible Land.” With a passport in hand, visit Bible characters of the old and new Testament with feats of strength, miracles and wonders. Kids of all ages were invited to join in the Vacation Bible School activities last week. Assisting with classes and activities were Jennifer and Matthew Stringer, Kevin and Leanne Wilhite, Debbie Higginbotham, Jennifer Waddell, Caitlin Waddell, Cristal Owens, Susan Smith and Phyllis Benson. Refreshments were served by the Women’s group each session.

Sue Ann Albright from California is visiting her sister Margie Laney of Jones Chapel. Sue Ann spent her early years in the Mt. Vernon, Sardis and Jones Chapel areas.

Lebanon Baptist Church members and others from the area enjoyed the monthly “Young at Heart” pot luck lunch on June 7. People gathered in the fellowship hall to visit and savor the delicious meal. Jane Thomason and Etta Mae Campbell organized the food.

 

Mt. Vernon Methodist Church’s revival started on Mon., June 19 at 7 p.m. and continued through Wednesday. Brother Marcus Lipscomb is the visiting evangelist.

The Adult Sunday School Class at Falkville United Methodist Church were invited to a taco supper at the home of Scotty and Betty Parker in Decatur. Scotty recently organized the class and they meet in the church parlor on Sundays at 10 a.m. The Class is studying Matthew.

 

On Monday night, June 5, Corinth West and Mt. Vernon Methodists started joint Bible School at Corinth Methodist Church. The Children and Youth met and studied the Bible, did crafts, recreation, music and also enjoyed refreshments from 6:30 till 8 p.m. Linda Walker from the Corinth Church was the Coordinator. The closing program was held on Friday night, June 9 at 6:30 p.m.

 

Falkville United Methodist Church group enjoyed their monthly pot luck lunch on Sunday, June the 4th after the morning worship service. Rev. Dr. John Russell, Falkville and Gandy’s Cove pastor and Duane Bennich the Gandy’s Cove delegate attended the North Alabama Methodist Conference at the VBCC in Huntsville on Sun., June 4 through Tues., June 6.

 

Wonderful happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week for Larry and Nancy Anders and they will celebrate their anniversary on June 25.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Gunter Linderman.

Christian love and heartfelt prayers go out this week for Sang Chandler. Christian love and heartfelt sympathy also goes out this week for the family of Helen Frances Morris.
