Danville Hawks baseball/softball update

The Danville Hawks baseball team played two games last week.

Danville 5, Falkville 4

The Danville Hawks defeated the Falkville Blue Devils thanks to a four run seventh inning. Falkville led 3-0 after three innings but the Hawks managed to take the win. Landon Tidwell and Jackson Wigginton. Carson Owens got the save for the Hawks on the mound.

Danville 2, Decatur Heritage 3.

The Danville Hawks fell to the Decatur Heritage Eagles 3-2 thanks to a walk-off single. Landon Tidwell tied the game in the fifth with a two run double. Carson Owens took the loss for Danville. He gave up four hits and three runs.

West Limestone 4

The Danville Lady Hawks just couldn’t hold up against West Limestone as they gave up four runs in the seventh inning after holding them scoreless for six innings. Danville led 2-0 after five innings. Grace Cobb led the Hawks with two hits.

Danville 2, Elkmont 3

Elkmont jumped on the Hawks early to take the win in this one. Danville out hit Elkmont 8-4 but couldn’t turn the hits into runs. Grace Cobb and Morgan Weatherwax led Hawks with three and two hits respectively. Savanna Pelfrey took the loss for Danville

Danville 15,

Cherokee 0

The Lady Hawks run ruled Cherokee after just three innings in this game. Callie had a game high five RBIs. Josey Meherg pitched the no hit shutout for the Hawks.

Danville 4, Northside 3

Danville picked up a close win over Northside in this one. Grace Cobb put the Hawks up first with a two run home run. The game was tied going into the last inning when Savanna Pelfrey hit a walk-off single to win the game. Laney Coker got the win for the Hawks.
