John Paul Burgess

Funeral for John Paul Burgess, 86, was Tues., Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Reynolds Hall officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral directing.

Burial was in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Burgess died Sat., Feb. 4, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 12, 1930, in Morgan County to James Henry and Lillian Parker Burgess.

Mr. Burgess retired from Wolverine Tube, after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a past volunteer at Hartselle Medial Center, a past member, president and secretary of the Hartselle Kiwanis Club, the Morgan County Red Cross Board of Directors and also past chairman of the Morgan County Red Cross Blood Program.

He was also District Chairman of Alabama District Key Clubs and was an advisor for the Hartselle Key Club for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
