Funeral for George W. Miller, Attorney at Law, 67, of Falkville will be
Wed. (today), Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Robin Lambert officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

A private family burial will follow.

Mr. Miller died Sat., Jan. 14, 2017, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 29, 1949, in Mifflinburg County to John Merrill Miller and Alma Ruth Eberhart Miller. He was a graduate of Western Area Joint Jr.- Sr. High School in Mifflinburg, Penn. He attended Calhoun Community College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science magna cum laude from Alabama A&M
University. He received a M.Ed from The Pennsylvania State University and
J.D from Birmingham School of Law. His academic achievements include Alpha
Zeta Honor Fraternity, Beta Beta Beta Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Mu,
National Dean’s List, Academic Honor Roll, Who’s Who in America’s Colleges
and Universities, Outstanding Young Men in America, Agricultural Leadership
Award, Faithful Service Award in Agriculture.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank
of Sergeant. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam
Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Miller was employed by the Morgan Co Sheriff’s Dept., Morgan Co Board of
Education, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and was a
practicing attorney since 1995. He was a member of the Alabama State Bar,
the American Bar Association, Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity International,
and The Pennsylvania Alumni Association. He served on the Board of Trustees
of Alabama A&M University from 1987-1991.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Miller; a daughter, Christy Miller Carr; three brothers, Ralph E. Miller (Nancy), Glenn R. Miller (Brenda) and John M. Miller (Tina), all of Mifflinburg, Penn.; three sisters, Dawn E. Spickler (Frank) of Beavertown, Penn., Sharon K. Kahl of Hartleton, Penn. and
Holly E. Catherman (Stanley) of Middleburg, Penn.
Pallbearers will be Neil Quattlebaum, Billy Tillman, Barry Dutton, Wayne
Smith, Roger Saint, J.R. Law and Vince Lambert.
