Funeral service for Joseph “Buddy” Johnson, 85, was Sun., Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Thomas Elder officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle
Memory Gardens.

Mr. Johnson died on Wed., Jan. 4, 2017 at his residence.  He was born June 29, 1931, in Etowah County to Naaman Johnson and Oppler Hanes Stubbs Johnson.  He was a retired corporal of the 101st Airborne Division 29th Field Artillery in Frankfort Germany from 1953-1955. He was a member of
the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, where he held the title of Sergeant of Arms. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Sheats Johnson and his parents. Mr. Johnson enjoyed serving his community and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include, one son, Joseph C. (Joe) Johnson (Carolyn), Hartselle, AL; one daughter, Tammy Johnson Parker (Randi), Hartselle, AL; sisters, Sue Shandor (Ron), Maryland and Louise Murphy (Ray), Hartselle, AL; four grandchildren, Joseph Johnson (Ashley), Huntsville, AL, Brandi Kirkpatrick (Jason), Hartselle, AL, Erica Elkins (Josh), Hartselle, AL and Kristina Parker, Hartselle, AL; and four great- grandchildren, whom he adored and cherished with all his heart.

Pallbearers will be Jayten Terry and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Possee.
