Thomas Woodrow Watson

Funeral for Thomas Woodrow Watson, 90, of Decatur will be Sat., Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at Somerville Road Church of Christ.

Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore. Visitation will be Sat., Oct. 15, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Watson died Wed., Oct. 12, 2016, at his residence. He was born June 9, 1926, to Thomas O. and Ruby Venable Watson. He was a World War II veteran where he served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class aboard the USS Frank Knox , he received the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal (1Star) and the Victory Medal. He was retired from 3M Company and was the founder of Your Transmission Man. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years Elizabeth B. Watson and siblings, Laura Carroll, Van Watson and James Robert Watson.

He is survived by his son, Mike Watson and wife Susan.

Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
